    We were looking for a quote for a horizontal discharge 3.5 ton equivalent central AC system and just gas hook up on a new water heater. He pretended he knew about horizontal discharge AC units but it was obvious from our phone conversation he was clueless as I knew more than he did. He quoted $7,500 to $8,000.00, $4,650 for the condenser, evaporator and the line set plus his labour. That was $3,000.00 - $3,500 over my other two quotes. That is some hourly labour rate for a basic install.
